Our Mission Statement:
WCNYC seeks to support Pace University students through one-on-one, interactive tutoring in writing. To this extent, we help students develop as independent writers and critical editors of their own work. Hence, we do not edit the students’ work for them, but work to educate them, in the context of their own writing, on the nuances of college composition. WCNYC also sets out to help students with a myriad of writing needs—from brainstorming to revision and citations, our peer and faculty tutors are prepared to guide students through our minimalist approach to writing tutoring. Further, our tutors are trained to work with both native speakers as well as non-native speakers of English. In order to best serve students and faculty, we adhere strictly to the standards and practices of the Pace NYC English Department, and the global principles of the Modern Language Association (MLA) and American Psychology Association (APA).
